Ethan Shen is the research manager of the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies at Sheridan College. He oversees lab operations and research projects, including projects funded through the SONAMI network.
We asked Ethan some questions so you can get to know him and his work with SONAMI better:
What is your favourite type of project to run for SONAMI?
Interdisciplinary collaboration is definitely my favourite. Teaming up with people from different backgrounds to brainstorm the project from different angles, followed by a successful execution, often brings excitement.
What are you most proud of?‘
Being part of the Sheridan Research team, working together with professionals, students, and industry partners on applied research projects to push the technological boundary.
What have you learned while working through the pandemic?
The ability to adapt to the fast-changing world, be prepared for the unexpected, and be flexible in decision making
